Job Description

At Spoon River Home Health, we are looking for someone that is compassionate, has a kind heart, who is empathetic and wants to give back. Someone that is reliable and manages their time well. A positive person with a great attitude. Responsibilities Provide personal hygiene assistance for elderly patients or those recovering from surgeries, injuries or accidents by attending to their basic needs, such as showering, bathing, dressing and eating. Help clients with medication reminders. Help with mobility around the house or outside (shopping, errands, doctor's appointments, walks etc.). Assist with planning and preparing meals. Help and encourage with therapy exercises. Perform housekeeping duties. Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency and report any unusual incidents. Offer activities that are engaging to provide a meaningful quality of life. Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting, eager to improve and continuously learn new skills.
Qualifications:
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with physical capability to perform job-related duties. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation every single day. Compassionate and act in a supportive manner. Available to work different shifts, including nights and/or weekends. Prior experience in a healthcare, hospitality, or in-home care environment (minimum of 1 year) a plus. Willingness to enforce health and safety standards. High School Diploma, equivalent or currently enrolled. Experience as a Caregiver, CNA, or completion of a CNA Program a plus. Take pride in providing high quality care.
