Job Description

Rates are negotiable! Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide exceptional patient care across diverse healthcare settings. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to supporting patient well-being, demonstrating excellent communication skills, and adhering to the highest standards of safety and confidentiality. As a CNA, you will play a vital role in assisting healthcare professionals with daily patient needs, ensuring comfort, safety, and dignity for all individuals under your care. Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using appropriate patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts. Monitor and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates, maintaining detailed medical documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems. Support patients with medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper procedures are followed in compliance with HIPAA regulations and aseptic techniques. Provide specialized care for individuals with conditions such as dementia or Alzheimer's disease, implementing memory care strategies to promote comfort and safety. Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams in various settings such as long-term care facilities, hospitals—including ICU and trauma centers—hospice, outpatient clinics, and home care environments. Maintain patient confidentiality at all times while managing medical records and documentation accurately within EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks. Assist with medical procedures such as phlebotomy or catheter care when trained and authorized to do so. Support infection control practices by adhering to aseptic techniques and safe handling procedures during patient interactions. Engage in ongoing caregiving education related to geriatrics, pediatrics, trauma care, or specialized areas like ICU or emergency medicine to enhance patient service quality. Requirements Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) from an accredited program. Proven experience working with diverse populations including geriatric patients, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those requiring memory or dementia care. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks for medical documentation and patient record management. Knowledge of vital signs measurement, basic life support (BLS), CPR, and safe manual handling practices including heavy lifting techniques. Experience in various healthcare environments such as hospitals (including Level I Trauma Centers), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home & community care settings. Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages while demonstrating empathy and professionalism. Understanding of HIPAA regulations and maintaining strict confidentiality of patient information. Physical stamina to perform caregiving duties that may involve prolonged standing or lifting patients using assistive devices like Hoyer lifts. Additional experience in specialized areas such as hospice care, infectious disease management, post-acute or sub-acute care is advantageous.
