Duties Deliver personalized patient care by assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility using safe handling practices like Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques. Monitor and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature, ensuring timely documentation in electronic health record (EHR) systems. Support clinical procedures such as catheter care, medication administration under supervision, phlebotomy, and aseptic techniques to maintain infection control standards. Assist with patient transfers using appropriate transfer methods and equipment while adhering to safety protocols for heavy lifting and patient safety. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to provide updates on patient status and address concerns compassionately. Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations while managing medical records and documentation diligently. Support specialized care needs including dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, hospice support, or critical care scenarios like ICU or trauma center environments. Qualifications Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) recognized by the state or relevant licensing authority. Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations including geriatric patients, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those requiring specialized dementia or memory care. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation. Knowledge of medical terminology and physiology relevant to patient care across acute and long-term settings. Ability to perform physical tasks involving safe lifting practices and manual handling techniques; experience with Hoyer lifts is a plus. Strong caregiving communication skills coupled with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams in fast-paced environments like hospitals or long-term care facilities. Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards; experience in medical-surgical units or emergency medicine is highly desirable.
