Forestville Rehabilitation and Wellness Center District Heights, MD Job Details Full-time $105,000 - $115,000 a year 3 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance Qualifications Program management RN License Program development Hiring Quality audits Full Job Description Forestville Rehab Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) / Infection Prevention/ Staff Development Coordinator Position Purpose The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)/ IP/SDC is responsible for assisting the Director of Nursing in the planning, organization, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of the Nursing Services Department while directing the Facility's Quality Assessment and Assurance (QAA) Program. This position ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, promotes continuous quality improvement, supports resident safety and clinical excellence, and helps maintain the highest standard of resident-centered care. Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Administration Assist the Director of Nursing with the daily operations of the Nursing Services Department. Develop, implement, evaluate, and revise nursing policies, procedures, protocols, and standards of practice. Coordinate nursing services with other departments to ensure continuity of resident care. Monitor departmental compliance with regulatory requirements and professional standards. Prepare written and verbal reports for the Director of Nursing, Administrator, and Quality Assurance Committee. Participate in state surveys, audits, and regulatory inspections, ensuring timely corrective actions. Serve in leadership roles as needed, including Unit Manager, Nurse Educator, or Quality Assurance Nurse. Infection Prevention/ Staff Development Direct and maintain the Facility's Quality Assessment and Assurance (QAA/QAPI) Program. Plan, organize, implement, and evaluate quality improvement initiatives designed to enhance resident outcomes. Monitor Quality Measures (QM), Quality Indicators (QI), survey findings, incident trends, and performance data. Develop corrective action plans and monitor their effectiveness. Schedule and facilitate Quality Assurance Committee meetings and maintain required documentation. Conduct departmental audits, chart reviews, clinical observations, and performance studies. Communicate quality initiatives and regulatory updates to leadership and staff. Clinical Operations Monitor delivery of nursing care to ensure compliance with physician orders, resident care plans, and regulatory standards. Conduct routine clinical rounds and evaluate resident outcomes. Review nursing documentation for accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance. Monitor medication administration, treatment schedules, physician documentation, and clinical practices. Assist with admissions, PASARR screenings, discharges, transfers, and continuity of care. Participate in resident assessments, MDS completion, care planning, and interdisciplinary care conferences. Provide direct nursing care when necessary. Staff Leadership & Development Assist with recruitment, interviewing, scheduling, orientation, and retention of nursing staff. Supervise nursing personnel, evaluate performance, and recommend coaching, disciplinary action, promotions, or recognition. Ensure appropriate staffing levels to meet resident care needs. Develop work assignments and monitor staff performance and attendance. Plan, coordinate, and conduct orientation, competency validation, continuing education, and annual mandatory in-service training. Identify educational needs and develop training programs related to regulatory compliance, infection prevention, resident safety, and clinical best practices. Maintain required education and competency records. Regulatory Compliance Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, OSHA, HIPAA, CMS, and Facility policies and procedures. Maintain readiness for surveys and inspections. Monitor implementation of corrective action plans resulting from audits or survey deficiencies. Ensure nursing personnel follow established policies, procedures, job descriptions, and standards of practice. Safety & Infection Prevention Promote a safe environment for residents, visitors, and staff. Participate in infection prevention and control activities, surveillance, and outbreak response. Ensure compliance with isolation precautions, universal precautions, PPE use, and safety protocols. Participate in disaster preparedness, fire safety, and emergency response planning. Monitor hazardous material reporting and MSDS compliance. Care Planning & Resident Services Participate in resident assessments, MDS scheduling, RAPs, care planning, and quarterly reviews. Ensure individualized care plans are implemented and communicated to all caregivers. Collaborate with residents, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to achieve optimal resident outcomes. Support discharge planning and transitions of care. Equipment & Resource Management Monitor inventory and availability of medications, medical supplies, and clinical equipment. Recommend equipment purchases and replacement needs. Promote cost-effective utilization of supplies while maintaining quality care. Ensure nursing equipment is maintained and operated safely by qualified personnel. Committees & Professional Participation Participate in Quality Assurance, Care Plan, Infection Prevention, Safety, and other interdisciplinary committees. Assist in preparing committee reports and follow-up actions. Attend professional education programs to maintain current knowledge of nursing practice, quality improvement, and regulatory changes. Maintain current licensure and required certifications. General Expectations The ADON/ Infection Prevention/ Staff Development is delegated the authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary to fulfill assigned duties. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary to support resident care, departmental operations, regulatory compliance, and organizational goals.
Pay:
$105,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
