CNA INSTRUCTOR
Help us expand healthcare career training in Central Maine! RSU 19 Adult Education is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse who is passionate about sharing their knowledge and helping adult learners prepare for meaningful careers in healthcare. We are looking for a qualified CNA instructor to join our Adult Education program and help us build opportunities for local adults to enter the healthcare field. With the right instructor, we also hope to expand our healthcare training offerings to include CRMA (Certified Residential Medication Aide) and PSS (Personal Support Specialist) training. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced RN who enjoys teaching, mentoring, and helping others succeed. You will play an important role in preparing students for careers in healthcare while helping meet the growing need for qualified healthcare professionals in our local communities. Responsibilities include: Provide CNA instruction in accordance with all applicable Maine state requirements and regulations. Teach required CNA curriculum, including classroom theory, skills laboratory, and clinical instruction. Maintain accurate student records, including attendance and required skills documentation. Monitor student progress and provide support and encouragement throughout the program. Help students develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to begin careers as Certified Nursing Assistants. Collaborate with RSU 19 Adult Education to provide a positive and supportive learning environment for adult students.
Qualifications:
Current, valid State of Maine Registered Nurse (RN) license. Required RN experience in accordance with current Maine CNA instructor requirements. Successful completion of the required Maine-approved CNA Train-the-Trainer course. Current Maine Department of Education Criminal History Record Check (CHRC) authorization, as required. Experience working with or supervising CNAs preferred. Experience teaching or working with adult learners is a plus. Successful candidates must meet all current State of Maine requirements for CNA instructors and receive any required state approval prior to beginning instruction.
