Job Description

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist residents to activities, during activities and back to designated area after activities
  • Make announcements about activities to be held
  • Assist with resident's rights.
  • Meet with residents 1 on 1 as needed.
  • Document resident attendance and participation during activities.
  • Assist with outings, parties, picnics, etc.
  • Deliver mail daily.
  • Care and maintenance of facility animals.
  • Dress accordingly for all designated holidays and special events.
  • Facilitation of daily activity programs as assigned.
  • Follow care plan approaches and provide adaptions for residents to successfully complete tasks.
  • Set up and clean for daily events.
  • Current CNA certification required. Those awarded a position in this department are required to maintain an active CNA certification.

  • Giving complete bath (tub, shower, bed).
  • A.M. and P.M. care (back rubs, oral hygiene, dressing residents).
  • Feeding Residents.
  • Proper positions both in and out of bed.
  • Correct documentation of intake and out-put.
  • Post-mortem care.
  • Transferring residents using mechanical lifts.
  • Podiatry care (soaking, clipping nails, moisturizers).
  • Passing nourishments.
  • Hair care.
  • Care of fingernails (soaking, clipping nails, moisturizers).
  • Range of Motion.
  • Assist residents in ambulation using a gait belt.
  • Empty drainage bags and measure.
  • Bed making (open, closed, occupied).
  • Admission and discharge of residents.
  • Keep nursing equipment clean and the utility room, kitchenette and sunrooms in order.
  • Transport residents to activities as needed (P.T., beauty shop, activities, barber shop, etc.).
  • Assist nurses in handing in difficult residents.
  • Charting and reporting condition of assigned patients in the acceptable manner of this facility.
  • Give and listen to report when coming and going off duty.
  • Perform any other assignments, given by Charge Nurse cheerfully and willingly after proper instruction Compliance as a Condition of Employment and Performance Appraisal
  • Agreement to abide by all standards, policies, and procedures of the facility, including the facility's compliance and ethics program, is a condition of employment.
