Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Assisted Living Job Summary Join our dedicated assisted living team as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), where your compassion, patience, and commitment to resident care will make a meaningful difference every day. In this role, you will provide hands-on support to our residents while promoting their dignity, independence, comfort, and overall well-being. You will work closely with our nursing team and other staff members to create a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment for our residents. Responsibilities Provide compassionate assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, and mobility. Assist residents with transfers, repositioning, ambulation, and the safe use of mobility equipment, including Hoyer lifts when needed. Monitor residents for changes in condition, behavior, appetite, mobility, or overall well-being and promptly report concerns to the nursing staff. Take and accurately document vital signs as directed. Provide appropriate continence care while maintaining each resident's privacy and dignity. Assist residents with meals and encourage proper nutrition and hydration. Provide companionship and emotional support while encouraging residents to participate in activities and maintain as much independence as possible. Follow individualized service plans and care instructions to ensure each resident receives appropriate and consistent care. Provide supportive care to residents living with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, and other age-related conditions. Maintain accurate and timely documentation according to facility policies and procedures. Answer resident call systems promptly and respond appropriately to resident needs. Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents. Follow infection prevention and control procedures, including proper hand hygiene and use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Communicate effectively with residents, families, nurses, caregivers, and other members of the assisted living team. Protect resident privacy and confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements. Report accidents, injuries, unusual behaviors, changes in condition, and other concerns to the appropriate nursing staff. Participate in training, staff meetings, and continuing education as required. Treat every resident with kindness, respect, dignity, and compassion. Qualifications Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in accordance with state requirements. Previous experience working with older adults or in an assisted living, long-term care, memory care, or senior living setting is preferred. Compassionate, dependable, and patient approach to resident care. Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and members of the healthcare team. Ability to safely assist residents with transfers, mobility, and activities of daily living. Ability to follow individualized care plans and facility policies and procedures. Ability to recognize and report changes in a resident's condition. Basic knowledge of infection prevention, resident safety, and proper body mechanics. Ability to maintain accurate and timely documentation. Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team. Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, including standing, walking, bending, assisting with transfers, and lifting as required.
