Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team at JPS Dibble Elementary. In this full-time role, you will play a vital part in supporting the health and well-being of our students by providing essential nursing care and assistance under the supervision of a registered nurse. You will contribute to a safe and nurturing environment, ensuring that all students receive the care they need to thrive in their educational setting. Responsibilities Assist with daily health assessments and monitor students' vital signs, reporting any changes to the supervising nurse. Provide basic care to students, including assistance with personal hygiene, mobility, and daily living activities. Maintain accurate and confidential health records for each student, ensuring compliance with school and health regulations. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, following established protocols and guidelines. Support students with special health needs, including those with chronic conditions or disabilities, ensuring their safety and comfort. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and healthcare professionals to create and implement individualized health plans. Educate students on health-related topics, promoting wellness and healthy habits. Maintain a clean and organized health office, ensuring all medical supplies are stocked and properly stored. Respond to health emergencies and provide first aid as needed, following emergency protocols. Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in student health care. Requirements Current certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) in accordance with state regulations. High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in pediatric care or school health is a plus. Previous experience in a healthcare or educational setting preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and staff. Compassionate and patient demeanor, with a genuine interest in the health and well-being of children. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism. Basic knowledge of medical terminology and procedures. Proficiency in using basic medical equipment and technology. CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain within the first month of employment.
