Job Description

The Laurels of Sandy Creek, a skilled nursing and rehabilitation center in Muskegon, MI, is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to deliver compassionate, resident-centered care. CNAs assist with bathing, grooming, toileting, dressing, mobility, feeding, and positioning while supporting residents' dignity, comfort, and independence. You will take vital signs, observe and report changes, follow individualized care plans, and maintain a clean, safe environment. Working within an interdisciplinary team, you'll collaborate with nurses and therapists, communicate respectfully with residents and families, and uphold infection control, safety, and regulatory standards. Responsibilities Provide direct personal care including bathing, grooming, toileting, and feeding Assist residents with mobility, transfers, and positioning using safe techniques Take and record vital signs, intake/output, and report changes to nursing staff Support residents with activities of daily living while promoting dignity and independence Maintain clean, safe resident rooms and common areas Follow individualized care plans and document care accurately Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and other team members on resident needs Offer emotional support and respectful communication to residents and families Adhere to infection control, safety, and regulatory standards Participate in training, huddles, and quality-improvement initiatives Required Skills Patient personal care Activities of daily living (ADLs) support Safe patient handling and transfers Vital signs measurement Infection control practices Long-term care documentation Basic medical terminology Observation and reporting of condition changes Mobility and fall-prevention techniques Team-based clinical care
