Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts and transfer methods. Monitor and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates. Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper documentation in electronic health records (EHR) systems while maintaining patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide specialized care for patients with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other memory impairments, employing techniques like memory care strategies and dementia-specific protocols. Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures such as catheter care and wound management to prevent infection. Assist with patient transfers and mobility using safe lifting practices and manual handling techniques. Document all patient interactions thoroughly within medical documentation systems like Epic or Cerner, ensuring accuracy and completeness for quality care delivery. Experience Prior experience working as a CNA or in a similar caregiving role within long-term care facilities, hospitals, or outpatient clinics is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs monitoring, and basic life support (BLS) certification is required. Experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatric patients, pediatric patients, individuals with disabilities or developmental disorders is advantageous. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR/Epic/eClinicalWorks) systems for accurate documentation is essential. Exposure to acute care environments such as ICU or trauma centers enhances your ability to adapt quickly in fast-paced settings.
