Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Paralegal/Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive support across a variety of legal practice areas, including estate planning, family law, securities law, litigation & regulations, personal injury law, and more. Your energetic approach and strong organizational skills will help ensure the smooth operation of our legal processes. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your legal support experience while contributing to impactful legal work in a fast-paced environment. Duties Assist attorneys with legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other research tools to gather pertinent case law and statutory information. Prepare and review legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, discovery requests, and correspondence with precision and attention to detail. Manage case files using document management systems MEC, ensuring all records are current, organized, and easily accessible. Conduct client interviews and document review sessions to gather relevant information for ongoing cases across various practice areas. Support litigation processes by drafting legal writing materials, proofreading documents, transcribing recordings, and maintaining procedural law compliance. Handle confidential information with integrity while supporting administrative tasks such as filing, organizing client files, and managing court filings. Coordinate project management activities related to complex cases or legal initiatives to ensure timely progress and effective communication among team members. Qualifications Proficiency in legal research platforms including Westlaw and LexisNexis. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and efficiency. Strong writing skills for drafting legal documents, reports, and correspondence; exceptional proofreading and transcription abilities are essential. Knowledge of procedural law across various jurisdictions; experience supporting litigation processes from document review to court filings. Effective client communication skills coupled with professional phone etiquette; ability to handle sensitive information discreetly. Competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), document processing tools, and familiarity with contracts management systems. Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough research and support complex projects within a fast-paced legal environment.
