Duties Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility using safe lifting practices and equipment like Hoyer lifts. Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems. Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical records standards. Provide specialized care for patients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, including memory care techniques and behavioral health support. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in settings such as long-term care facilities, hospitals (including ICU and trauma centers), outpatient clinics, or home care environments to ensure comprehensive patient service. Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures like catheter care or phlebotomy to prevent infection and promote patient safety. Assist with patient transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts or manual handling methods while adhering to safe lifting practices. Support patients with complex needs such as those requiring hospice or palliative care, ensuring comfort and dignity at all times. Qualifications Valid CNA certification from an accredited program with current state licensure. Experience working in diverse healthcare environments including hospitals (ICU, emergency medicine, trauma centers), long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, or home & community care settings. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks or similar platforms for medical documentation and records management. Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and aseptic techniques essential for delivering safe patient care. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges; experience in dementia or Alzheimer's care is highly valued. Strong communication skills coupled with a compassionate approach to caregiving; ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical stamina for heavy lifting and manual handling tasks; commitment to safe lifting practices and patient safety standards.
