Duties Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to ensure their comfort and dignity. Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems. Support medical procedures by preparing patients, maintaining aseptic techniques, and assisting with tasks such as catheter care or wound management. Facilitate patient transfers using appropriate methods like Hoyer lifts or other transfer equipment while adhering to safe lifting practices. Document patient care activities thoroughly in medical records while maintaining strict compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care plans and address individual needs. Assist with medication administration under supervision and support other nursing staff with medical-surgical procedures or emergency responses including CPR or basic life support (BLS). Qualifications Valid certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) recognized by the state or relevant licensing authority. Experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those requiring specialized dementia or Alzheimer's care. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR/Epic/eClinicalWorks/Cerner) and medical documentation standards. Knowledge of infection control practices such as aseptic technique and safe manual handling procedures. Prior experience in long-term care facilities, hospitals—including ICU or trauma centers—or home & community care environments is highly desirable. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist patients using equipment like Hoyer lifts or transfer methods.
