Specialty Clinic Unit Clerk/Nursing Assistant -
FT General Summary of Responsibilities:
TThe Multispecialty Clinic Unit Clerk/Nursing Assistant supports clinic operations by serving as a consistent point of contact for patients, providers, and clinic staff. This position performs clerical, scheduling, appointment coordination, communication, patient flow support duties, and basic nursing care to improve efficiency, accountability, and the overall patient experience within the department. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Answer and manage incoming clinic phone calls. Patient appointment scheduling. Manage VA authorizations for Multispecialty Clinic patients. Coordinate, build, and update schedule templates for Multispecialty Clinic providers. Provide patient intake paperwork and assist with collection of completed forms. Coordinate communication among patients, providers, clinic staff, and other departments. Assist with follow-up and referral coordination at patient check-out. Work collaboratively with specialty clinic nurses to support patient flow, scheduling needs, communication, and clinic operations. Scheduled hours may vary to ensure department and provider coverage. Cross train to provide unit clerk coverage and support when organizational needs arise. Provide basic nursing care to support safe and clean patient care under the direction of a Licensed Nurse. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
