Position Summary:
Total Care Home Care is seeking compassionate and dependable Caregivers/Personal Assistants/Companions to provide essential support and companionship to our clients in their homes. This role focuses on providing personalized care that promotes independence, safety, and well-being. The ideal candidate will be patient, empathetic, and possess a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
Responsibilities:
Personal Care:
Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Provide assistance with mobility and transfers, including using assistive devices as needed. Assist with medication reminders. Provide assistance with meal preparation and feeding.
Companionship and Emotional Support:
Engage in meaningful conversations and activities with clients. Provide companionship and emotional support to alleviate loneliness and isolation. Participate in recreational activities, such as reading, games, and outings.
Household Assistance:
Perform light housekeeping duties, including laundry, dishes, and tidying up. Assist with grocery shopping and errands. Maintain a clean and safe environment for the client.
Transportation:
Provide transportation to appointments, errands, and social activities as needed.
Documentation and Communication:
Maintain accurate and detailed records of care provided. Communicate effectively with clients, family members, and Total Care Home Care staff. Report any changes in the client's condition or behavior to the appropriate supervisor. Adherence to
Care Plans:
Follow the customized care plan created for each individual client. Maintain client confidentiality.
Qualifications:
Compassionate and caring nature with a genuine desire to help others. Reliable and dependable with a strong work ethic. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to follow instructions and work independently. Patience, empathy, and understanding. Ability to maintain client confidentiality. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (must). Previous experience in caregiving or related field (preferred or will train). Certification in CPR and First Aid (preferred, or willingness to obtain). Background check is required.
