Responsibilities Provide direct client care including toileting, feeding, and mobility assistance using safe lifting practices such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques. Monitor vital signs and observe changes in client conditions, promptly reporting any concerns to nursing staff. Assist with Recreational Activities under the Activity Director. Help serve both breakfast and lunch. Facilitate safe client transfers utilizing appropriate transfer methods and equipment to prevent injury. Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive care delivery. Requirements Valid CNA or CHHA certification recognized by the state of NJ . Experience working with diverse populations such as geriatric clients, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those requiring memory or dementia care. Knowledge of medical terminology and basic physiology relevant to client care. Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling safely while adhering to safe lifting practices. Strong caregiving skills complemented by excellent communication abilities and compassionate demeanor. Basic life support (BLS) certification is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to obtain if not already certified. Prior experience in settings such as nursing homes, hospice, assisted living or day centers are advantageous.
