Full Job Description Nature and Scope of Job:

Job Functions and Responsibilities:

Individuals who thrive at PACS tend to be entrepreneurial professionals and hungry learners who crave frequent high-quality feedback on their practice. The Certified Health Assistant is responsible for supporting the school's Healthcare Renders basic First Aid and emergency care to students for illnesses, injuries, and life-threatening situations. Informs parents/guardians of student illnesses and injuries according to First Aid and Emergency Guidelines for School Staff. Initiates First Aid and/or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) to save lives; uses an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) as indicated. Activates 9-1-1 to mobilize first responders (police, fire, and/or ambulance) in life- threatening emergencies. Assists in administering scheduled and as needed medications. Performs specialized procedures as trained and delegated by the School Nurse,including diabetic glucose monitoring, carbohydrate counting, insulin dosagecalculation, small-volume nebulizer treatment, urinary catheterization, etc. Assists in state-mandated vision, hearing, height, weight, and dental screenings. Monitors student health/safety during assigned period(s) in school environments(i.e., sick/well rooms, assemblies, athletic areas/fields, cafeteria/multi-purpose room, classrooms, field trips, playgrounds, restrooms, bus transports, etc.) which may include physical activities (i.e., running after student(s) to prevent them from harming themselves or others.) Serves as the school-based health and safety designee; reports unsafe conditions to site administration. Assists with health office infection control practices; maintains cleanliness, supplies, and equipment of sick/well rooms. Stocks and reorders First Aid supplies (i.e., band-aids, tongue depressors, etc.); assists in maintaining First Aid kit/supplies, trauma kit, and evacuation cart/system under direction of the School Nurse. Maintains confidentiality of student medical records and health information. Prepares, organizes, and maintains accurate health records/reports on Districtand HS forms, and in appropriate office notebooks according to HSpolicies/procedures. Reviews, records students' medical and health information in the studentinformation system and electronic medical records database. Tracks and reports blood borne pathogen exposure incidents to School Nurseand site administrator. Conforms to safety standards, as prescribed. Performs other tasks related to the position, as assigned.

Qualifications:

Master's Degree in Education or related field preferred; advanced degree in education a plus. At least three (3) years of successful work in the Student Support or Dean field in an urban school environment A clear record of elevating student achievement in an urban classroom, with a strong understanding of pedagogy that drives results. Have superb organizational and self-management skills and be able to handle multiple responsibilities effectively; have strong planning and execution skills; be a goal-oriented and effective problem-solver. A relentless work ethic and commitment to achieving the school's mission. Excellent strategic planning, leadership, management, and communication skills, with a proven ability to lead instructional and non-instructional staff. Shared dedication to Philip's Academy's philosophy and mission. Communicate effectively in English, both written and verbally. Bilingual a plus. Possess excellent integrity, a gentle spirit, and demonstrate strong moral character and initiative.

Demonstrate technological abilities:

word processing, data management, and informational retrieval. Submit a background check through the New Jersey Department of Education. Be CPR, First Aid, and Blood Borne Pathogen certified or obtain certification upon hire. Complete a Tuberculosis test , COVID Test and physical and provide a physician's documentation of both
