Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to foster independence and comfort Take and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates with accuracy and professionalism Support medical procedures by preparing patients, maintaining aseptic techniques, and ensuring proper documentation in electronic health records (EHR) systems Help transfer patients safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts or manual handling techniques while adhering to safe lifting practices Observe and report changes in patient condition or behavior promptly to nursing staff using clear medical documentation Provide emotional support and effective communication tailored to patients' needs, including those with dementia or developmental disabilities Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure all medical records are accurately updated Requirements Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) recognized by state licensing authorities Experience working with geriatric patients or in long-term care facilities is preferred; experience in hospitals or acute care settings is highly valued Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs measurement, and basic life support (CPR) certification is required Familiarity with Point Click Care for medical documentation and patient records management Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively handle patient transfer methods using appropriate equipment like Hoyer lifts Strong caregiving communication skills with a compassionate approach toward diverse patient populations including those with behavioral health needs or memory impairments Demonstrated understanding of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and safe manual handling procedures Flexibility to work across various shifts in inpatient, outpatient, home care, or community settings; experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is a plus Join us in delivering exceptional patient-centered care!
