Job Description
NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk is a 306-bed medical center, providing care to residents of eastern Long Island. The hospital facility is home to the Knapp Cardiac Care Center—an advanced heart disease diagnostic and treatment facility—as well as a modern ambulatory surgical pavilion with specialized services including women's imaging, a sleep laboratory, and bariatric surgery. Our Provisional Level 2 Trauma Center delivers comprehensive and specialized care for patients with traumatic injuries. The Stroke Center at NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk is designated by the New York State Department of Health as a Primary Stroke Center, with expert neurologists available to provide treatment 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Nurse Aide-2 Main- Full Time
- Day Shift-7AM
- 7PM•Alternating Days•NSG-2 Main•Day Shift-7AM.
Job Responsibilities:
Patient Care Delivery- The nurse aide delivers basic nursing care to provide for the care and comfort needs of the patient. Responds to patient's call lights promptly to determine patient's needs and relays information to appropriate nursing personnel. Observes the patient and reports any reaction or change in condition to the nurse in a timely manner. Assists the patient in the activities of daily living
- nourishment, ambulation, personal hygiene, toileting.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a High School Diploma or GED BLS certification (AHA only) and first aid training. De-escalation training provided on job. Ability to read and write at an elementary school level to understand the patient's plan of care and to record data on the patient's medical record Ability to perform simple arithmetic calculations at an elementary school level in order to take and record the patient's weight, vital signs, I & O Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact with patients and their families that demonstrate recognition of cultural diversity Basic analytical skills in order to gather data, complete comparisons, interpret, & report outcomes to the nurse or document on the medical record.
