Duties Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history documentation using electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems). Administer medications, injections, IV infusions, and perform catheterizations following strict safety protocols and medical documentation standards. Assist with diagnostic evaluations such as specimen collection/processing, laboratory testing, and medical imaging procedures. Manage airway care, ventilator support, tube feeding, and wound suturing while adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control policies. Provide specialized care for patients with complex needs such as Alzheimer's disease, dementia, memory care, or those requiring hospice or palliative support. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, and patient education to ensure seamless continuity of care. Utilize EMR/EHR systems for accurate documentation of patient care activities while maintaining HIPAA compliance and clinical confidentiality policies. Support emergency response efforts through first aid administration, CPR certification maintenance, and triage during urgent situations. Work with diverse populations including pediatric (neonatal ventilator, toddler care) and geriatric patients (geriatrics, long-term care regulations), demonstrating physiology knowledge and patient communication skills. Experience Proven experience working in acute care environments such as ICU (Intensive Care Unit), Level I or Level II trauma centers, emergency rooms, or hospital medicine units. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or Epic for medical documentation and patient records management. Prior experience in specialized fields including critical care experience, infectious disease care, pain management experience, or post-acute care settings such as skilled nursing facilities or home & community care. Familiarity with medical coding systems such as ICD-9/10 and CPT coding for accurate documentation and billing processes. Background working with individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities in settings like assisted living or long-term care facilities. Knowledge of advanced procedures including IV insertion/insertion techniques, venipuncture (phlebotomy), sterile processing techniques, and oxygen therapy management. Experience providing patient-centered care in fast-paced environments such as urgent care clinics or outpatient clinics specializing in primary medicine or specialty services like ophthalmology or cardiology.
