Responsibilities Assist nursing staff with daily patient care activities, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility assistance. Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates accurately in electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems). Support patients with activities of daily living while maintaining their dignity and independence. Ensure proper infection control practices using aseptic techniques and safe handling procedures. Use patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts safely to assist with mobility needs. Document patient information meticulously, adhering to HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans for residents with complex needs, including dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or developmental disabilities. Assist with medication administration under supervision and support emergency procedures like CPR when necessary. Requirements Valid State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) certification or equivalent licensure. Experience working with geriatric patients in long-term care facilities or nursing homes preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs measurement, and basic anatomy relevant to patient care. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation. Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced environments such as ICU, emergency medicine, or trauma centers is a plus. Strong caregiving skills with excellent communication abilities tailored to diverse patient populations including pediatrics and individuals with disabilities. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and utilize patient transfer equipment like Hoyer lifts effectively.
