Duties Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts. Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates with accuracy and attention to detail. Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper documentation in electronic health records (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner. Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, including memory care techniques and behavioral health management. Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures such as catheter care and wound dressing changes to prevent infection. Assist with medical documentation and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in various settings including ICU, emergency medicine, pediatrics, geriatrics, and behavioral health to deliver holistic patient care. Requirements Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) from an accredited program. Experience working in diverse healthcare environments such as hospitals (including Level I trauma centers), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home care is highly preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (BLS). Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks or similar platforms for accurate medical documentation. Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting patients using Hoyer lifts and assisting with mobility needs. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages—including pediatrics—and collaborate with healthcare teams. Demonstrated understanding of infection control practices and aseptic techniques necessary for safe patient care.
