Position Requirements Education:
Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred (ideally in Nursing, Education, or a related healthcare leadership field). Position Summary The Assistant Dean of Nursing supports the Dean of Nursing in the leadership, administration, and continuous improvement of the nursing program. This position provides guidance to nursing faculty, supports student success, assists with curriculum and clinical education, and helps ensure the program meets institutional, state, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Leadership & Faculty Support:
Provide leadership, guidance, and support to nursing faculty and department staff. Assist with faculty hiring, onboarding, scheduling, professional development, and performance evaluations.
Academic Operational Excellence:
Assist the Dean of Nursing with the overall administration and operation of the nursing program. Support faculty in maintaining high standards of instruction and student learning.
Curriculum & Clinical Oversight:
Assist with curriculum development, review, assessment, and continuous improvement. Oversee clinical education and work closely with clinical partners to maintain high-quality opportunities for students.
Student Success Advocacy:
Monitor student academic progression, address academic or program-related concerns, and drive student retention, completion, and overall success.
Compliance & Accreditation:
Assist with accreditation, regulatory compliance, program assessment, and required reporting. Maintain accurate and confidential faculty, student, and program records.
Cross-Department Collaboration:
Participate in nursing department meetings, committees, and institutional initiatives. Collaborate across departments to promote a professional, respectful, and student-centered learning environment. Supervisory Responsibilities The Assistant Dean of Nursing may supervise or provide direct leadership to nursing faculty and department staff. Responsibilities include assigning work, providing feedback and coaching, participating in employee evaluations, supporting professional development, and addressing performance concerns in accordance with institutional policies. Location This is a fully on-campus position located at our Bend Campus.
