Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using appropriate patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts. Monitor and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates, ensuring proper documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems. Provide specialized care for patients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, utilizing memory care techniques and ensuring a safe environment. Maintain a clean and safe environment by following infection control practices and safe lifting procedures during patient transfers. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient service and understanding of care plans. Qualifications Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) from an accredited program. Experience working with geriatric patients in long-term care facilities or nursing homes is highly preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (BLS) certification. Prior experience in diverse healthcare settings such as assisted living facilities, rehab centers or memory care is advantageous. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR/Epic/eClinicalWorks) systems for accurate medical documentation. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and utilize manual handling techniques effectively. Strong caregiver communication skills coupled with a compassionate approach to patient care across pediatric to senior populations.
