Job Description

We are looking for a
FULL -TIME CNA
(Certified Nursing Assistant) Homecare Hospice Aide to service the Horry County area and a
PART-TIME CNA
Homecare Hospice Aide (up to 29 hours per week) to float between Horry and Georgetown Counties as needed. The hours are 8AM-4:30PM Monday through Friday. We have a competitive benefits package and generous paid time off. Valid South Carolina motor vehicle license, auto insurance and reliable transportation required . Position Summary:
Responsible to the Clinical Leader for carrying out the duties listed on a written assignment from the Registered Nurse for a specific patient to increase the level of comfort and to maintain personal hygiene and a safe healthy environment for the patient in the home.
Qualifications:
Demonstrates ability to make meaningful observations and document findings in a brief, accurate, and concise manner Demonstrates ability to work independently and possess strong time management skills Excellent customer services skills at all times High School graduate or GED holder Graduate of an approved Certified Nursing Assistant program and listed on the State of SC Nurse Aide Registry as currently licensed Current CPR certification
Responsibilities and Functions:
Perform or assist patient in bathing, care of mouth, skin and hair Assisting patient in and out of bed and assisting with ambulation Turning patient in bed and positioning for comfort Assisting with range of motion exercises which hospice aide has been taught by appropriate health personnel Assisting patient with toileting activities and perineal care including urinary drainage devices Performing household duties which will facilitate the patient's self care at home and are necessary to prevent or postpone institutionalization Changing bed linens Proper disposal of soiled linens, dressings and/or supplies Reporting changes in the patient's condition and needs to nurse in a timely manner Create successful interpersonal relationships with patient and family and maintain strict confidentiality regarding patient/family information Comply with universal precautions and infection control policies and procedures Completes appropriate documentation, time and mileage in CellTrak timely Attends staff meetings as assigned Other assignments as may be appropriate Understand and adhere to the philosophy, mission, policies and procedures and handbook guidelines of Tidelands Community Hospice.
Physical Requirements:
Visual acuity and hearing ability adequate to complete assignment. Ability to perform tasks involving physical activity, which may include heavy lifting, extensive bending and standing. Ability to work in an environment involving issues of grief and loss. Ability to handle stress in a mature manner.
Working Conditions:
Periods of stress related to variable workload and deadlines. Flexible scheduling to meet patient care needs and Tidelands special events. Interaction with terminally ill patients and their families. Driving in inclement weather. Patient's home in varying states of repair. Presence of patient/family pets. Nursing home environment.
