We are looking for someone dependable who has a passion for helping others to care for an elderly gentlman in Clarksville, TN. This is a part time position but there is an opportunity for full time hours if you are willing to work another client for a few days Monday-Friday. You will be responsible for assisting with ADLS and household chores/tasks The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in providing compassionate patient care and supporting individuals with diverse needs. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of clients by assisting with daily activities, ensuring safety, and promoting independence within their homes or community settings. Responsibilities Provide personal care assistance including bathing, grooming, dressing, and mobility support to clients with various needs. Monitor patients' health status by observing vital signs and reporting any concerns to healthcare professionals promptly. Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as meal preparation, light housekeeping, and medication reminders. Support clients with mobility using appropriate transfer methods and equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary. Ensure a safe environment by adhering to manual handling protocols and maintaining cleanliness standards. Communicate effectively with clients, family members, and healthcare teams to coordinate care plans and updates. Maintain detailed documentation of patient observations, care provided, and any incidents in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Requirements Proven experience working as a caregiver in private homes, group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health settings. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring. Familiarity with dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and supporting individuals with neurodevelopmental or developmental disabilities. Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely and effectively, including patient transfers using Hoyer lifts or other equipment. Certification in CPR and First Aid additional training in hospice or hospice care is a plus. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage empathetically with clients of all ages and backgrounds. Experience working within HIPAA guidelines ensuring confidentiality and privacy of patient information. Physical stamina for heavy lifting and long periods of standing or assisting clients with mobility needs.
