Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in various settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and home care environments. The Nursing Assistant will assist with daily living activities, monitor patient health, and ensure a safe and comfortable environment for all patients. Certified Nurse Assistant Job Duties and Responsibilities Serve meals to patients; transport to dining area. Helping them eat and drink when necessary. Clean up after meals and assist residents with personal care after meals. Provide all personal care that is needed including but not limited to bathing, grooming, and dressing the patients. Assisting with all ADL's. Routinely reposition and turn patients at least every 2 hours; assist those who need help walking or assistance transporting in wheelchairs Keep rooms clean and free of clutter or debris. Changing bedding, emptying bedpans etc. Record patient eating habits and bodily functions, reporting any changes to a nurse or physician Transferring patients according to care plan whether with a gait belt or lift while following all set safety precautions Transport medical equipment in and out of rooms according to patient requirements Must complete all charting before leaving at the end of shift Obtain weights, vital signs or anything else within scope of practice as needed Observe residents carefully (behaviors, skin issues, etc.) and report any changes to charge nurse Provide adequate hydration to residents at regular intervals each day according to specific resident needs. Assist nursing staff with the basics of aseptic and sterile techniques to avoid infection of resident and self-contamination of equipment and supplies. Attend monthly in-service education programs in order to meet facility educational requirements. Protect residents from neglect, mistreatment and abuse. Others as directed by the supervisor Deal effectively with staff, residents, families, superiors, and government representatives in a professional manner. Certified Nurse Assistant Job Requirements and Qualifications High School degree or equivalent (GED) Completion of state-approved CNA education and training program CNA certification Knowledge of medical terminology High level of patience, empathy, and compassion Excellent observation and communication skills Basic computer and note-taking skills (record keeping) Ability to work long hours on your feet Pushing, pulling, bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing (rarely), crawling (rarely), reaching, grasping, and fine manipulation throughout shift. Sometimes continuously. Lifting 1-10lbs continuously, 11-20lbs frequently, 21-50lbs frequently, 51lbs + occasionally. Display professionalism both in appearance and in attitude. Exhibit a willingness to learn. Sitting, standing and walking for long periods of time.
