Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Teacher to join our team. Fred Moore Day Nursery School serves children from infants to 4 years old . As an Assistant Teacher, you will play a crucial role in supporting the lead teacher in creating a positive and nurturing learning environment for our students. This is a full-time position that offers valuable experience in early childhood education.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the lead teacher in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans and activities
• Support students with behavior management and social-emotional development
• Provide individualized attention and support to students with special needs, including those on the autism spectrum
• Collaborate with the lead teacher to create a safe and inclusive classroom environment
• Assist with classroom management, including maintaining cleanliness and organization
• Supervise students during outdoor playtime and other group activities
• Communicate effectively with parents and provide updates on student progress
• Attend staff meetings and professional development sessions as required

Qualifications:

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
• 2 years experience working with young children in a licensed child care setting required
• Experience in a Texas Rising Star certified program preferred
• Knowledge of early childhood development principles and best practices
• Familiarity with behavior management techniques and strategies
• Ability to assist in curriculum implementation
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
