Job Description

Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our healthcare team for the 2pm-10pm shift. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care, with experience across various healthcare settings including long-term care, assisted living, hospitals, and specialized units such as ICU, emergency, or trauma centers. This role offers an opportunity to provide high-quality care to diverse patient populations, including geriatrics, pediatrics, and individuals with developmental disabilities or memory care needs. The CNA will be instrumental in supporting patient comfort, safety, and well-being while adhering to all healthcare regulations and standards. Duties Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary Monitor and record vital signs accurately using EMR/EHR systems and ensure proper documentation of patient care activities Administer medications and treatments following established protocols and HIPAA guidelines Support patients with complex medical needs including catheter care, wound care, and infection control practices such as aseptic techniques Collaborate with nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, especially those with dementia or behavioral health conditions Assist with medical procedures such as phlebotomy or specimen collection when trained and certified Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection control standards and safety protocols in various clinical settings including outpatient clinics, inpatient units, or home care environments Educate patients and families about health management strategies relevant to their conditions Skills Proven experience in diverse healthcare environments such as ICU, emergency medicine, post-acute care, hospice, or behavioral health settings Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Cerner, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms for accurate documentation Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and patient safety protocols including basic life support (BLS) certification Experience working with specialized populations such as those requiring Alzheimer's or dementia care, pediatric patients, or individuals with disabilities Ability to perform complex caregiving tasks including medication administration, catheter care, and use of assistive devices like Hoyer lifts Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams and providing patient-centered care Demonstrated understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality Flexibility to work in fast-paced environments such as Level I Trauma Centers or Level II trauma units with acute or infectious disease cases This position is ideal for motivated CNAs seeking a rewarding role in a dynamic healthcare setting where they can make a meaningful difference in patients' lives while advancing their clinical skills.
