Job Description

Overview Pure Dermatology is seeking a dedicated and compassionate medical assistant to join our growing team. A candidate with a strong desire to learn and considering a career in healthcare who is highly motivated to learn Dermatology and contribute will be strongly considered. This position requires a blend of clinical skills and administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of our medical facility. Please note, the medical assistant hired will have expectations to work in both our Kyle and Austin location. Qualifications Medical assistant experience If not experienced, pre-nursing, pre-PA, or pre-med individuals are encouraged to apply Excellent communication skills Good problem-solving and analytical skills Ability to work as a team member in a fast-paced environment Well-organized with attention to detail Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Empathetic with patient needs and concerns Ability to work well with providers, anticipating their needs in regards to patient treatment Knowledge of medical and skin care terminology Proficient with general computer skills Able to stand for long periods of time
Responsibilities:
The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting the provider with patient care, including obtaining a history, chief complaint, and consents; assisting with surgical procedures (including mohs surgery and cosmetic procedures such as botox and lasers) preparing exam rooms; escorting patients to room; preparing them for provider, and assisting in patient education regarding aftercare protocols and what to expect after treatment Other responsibilities if desirable and receive adequate training include work as a histotechnologist Other responsibilities include but are not limited to, EHR charting, stocking of rooms, and turnover of rooms The Medical Assistant is responsible for reviewing and managing the schedule to ensure appointments are scheduled appropriately and supplies needed for the procedure are available Education & Experience High school diploma plus either completion of a college degree or a Medical Assistant program preferred
