(I am allergic to pets) Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) operating as an Independent Contractor on a 1099 basis to provide exceptional patient care in home and community settings. This role offers flexibility and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring assistance with daily activities, medical needs, and emotional support. As a vital member of our care team, you will deliver personalized care that promotes independence, comfort, and dignity for diverse patient populations, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those receiving hospice or dementia care. Responsibilities Provide direct patient care including assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Monitor and record vital signs accurately while maintaining detailed medical documentation in electronic health record (EHR) systems Assist with medication administration following prescribed protocols and ensuring compliance with home healthcare regulations Observe patient conditions closely, noting changes in health status or behavior and communicating updates promptly to supervising healthcare professionals Support patients with specialized needs such as catheter care, Alzheimer's and dementia care, end-of-life support, and memory care Utilize patient transfer methods safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices while adhering to patient transfer protocols Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations and ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date Requirements Valid CNA certification with current licensure; prior experience working as a CNA preferred Demonstrated experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home healthcare environments Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for documentation and medical records management Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs measurement, medication administration, catheter care, and basic life support (BLS) including CPR certification Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, geriatrics, dementia or Alzheimer's disease is highly desirable Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary and work independently within a home health setting Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration Understanding of home health care assistance standards and hospice or palliative care principles Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines and delivering compassionate patient personal care assistance Join us to be part of a dynamic team committed to providing high-quality home health services.
