Job Description
Psychiatric Nursing Assistant (PNA) We are seeking experienced Psychiatric Nursing Assistants (PNAs) to provide direct patient care within an inpatient behavioral health setting. The Psychiatric Nursing Assistant works under the supervision of the Nursing Shift Leader and assists with the care, safety, and daily needs of hospitalized psychiatric patients, including individuals who may have a dual diagnosis. Key Responsibilities Provide direct care and support to hospitalized psychiatric patients. Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs). Obtain and monitor vital signs. Observe patients and maintain a safe and therapeutic environment. Monitor for changes in patient behavior or condition and promptly report concerns to nursing staff. Respond appropriately to emergencies and safety concerns. Perform required computer data entry and documentation. Follow all facility policies, procedures, and established standards of care. Perform additional patient care duties as assigned and within the scope of the position. Requirements Must have proven experience working as a Psychiatric Mental Health Technician, Psychiatric Aide, Behavioral Health Technician, Psychiatric Nursing Assistant, or in a comparable behavioral health patient-care role. Must be comfortable working in an inpatient mental health environment with patients who may have complex psychiatric, behavioral, and/or dual diagnoses. Must comply with all applicable facility and HHSC policies, procedures, rules, and regulations. Must comply with established attendance and leave policies. Certification Requirements Must possess current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR certification. Schedule Positions are available across the following shifts:
