Job Description

Overview The Psychiatric Attendant/Nursing Assistant provides various patient care duties, under the supervision of the Nursing Shift Leader. Duties Must have proven experience as a psychiatric mental health tech/aide. Must be willing to work at Terrell State Hospital, a mental health facility with patients that may have a dual diagnosis. Must abide by the rules, regulations, and policies of HHSC and Terrell State Hospital. Must abide by staffing agency and TSH's attendance and leave policy Must comply with HHSC immunization requirements Must submit to HHSC required drug test Must submit to HHSC required fingerprinting Must complete facility and HHSC required training
Responsibilities:
Provide care for hospitalized psychiatric patients Assist with daily living activities Monitor Vital signs Monitoring for safety and responding to emergencies Perform computer data entry Comply with facility Standard Operating Procedures to meet standards for accrediting agencies; specifically, Joint Commission guidelines, CMS standards,
TSH Policy and Directives and HHSC Standards, Rules and Directives License, Certification, or Registration Required :
Must be certified by the American Heart Association -BLS in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and maintain that certification while providing services at the Terrell State Hospital. Copies of CPR certifications must be kept on file with TSH's Contracting office. All certifications must be current and remain as such while providing services at the Terrell State Hospital. #HC010
