Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, including memory care techniques and behavioral health management strategies. Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care, phlebotomy procedures (where certified), wound care, and aseptic techniques to prevent infection. Collaborate with nursing staff and healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient care transitions across different settings like hospital medicine units or outpatient clinics. Maintain a safe environment by adhering to safe lifting practices, infection control protocols, and emergency response procedures including CPR and basic life support certification. Skills Proven experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and nursing practices relevant to acute care settings like ICU or Level I Trauma Centers. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining patient safety standards; skilled in using patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts. Excellent communication skills for caregiving interactions and team collaboration within fast-paced environments like emergency medicine or urgent care clinics. Experience working in long-term care facilities or nursing homes with a focus on dementia or memory care. Certifications including Basic Life Support (BLS), CPR, HIPAA compliance training, and if applicable—phlebotomy certification or medication administration training.
