Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) specializing in hospice care to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient-centered care, with experience working with individuals at the end of life. As a CNA in hospice, you will provide essential support to patients and their families, ensuring comfort, dignity, and respect throughout their journey. Duties Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility, ensuring their comfort and safety. Monitor and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates. Support medication administration under the supervision of nursing staff, adhering to all safety protocols. Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families during difficult times. Maintain detailed medical documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems while respecting patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Utilize specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts to safely transfer patients with mobility challenges. Follow aseptic techniques during patient care procedures to prevent infection and promote safety. Experience Prior experience working in hospice or palliative care settings is highly preferred. Demonstrated proficiency with electronic health records (EHR/Epic systems) and medical documentation practices. Experience working with geriatric patients, individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, and those requiring memory or behavioral health care. Knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration protocols, and basic life support (CPR). Background in long-term care facilities, nursing homes, or hospital environments such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers is advantageous. Familiarity with assistive devices like Hoyer lifts and safe manual handling techniques is essential. Strong caregiving skills complemented by excellent communication abilities to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
