We are looking for a dedicated Ophthalmic Technician to join our clinical team. Summary The Ophthalmic Technician plays a key role in delivering high-quality patient care by assisting physicians and optometrists during comprehensive eye examinations. This position performs diagnostic testing, documents clinical findings, prepares patients for examination, and helps ensure efficient clinic operations while providing an outstanding patient experience. Key Responsibilities Welcome and prepare patients for eye examinations while providing exceptional customer service. Obtain and document patient histories, visual acuity, and other preliminary clinical information. Perform ophthalmic diagnostic testing, including OCT, visual fields, fundus photography, and other testing as directed. Assist physicians and optometrists during examinations and minor in-office procedures. Accurately document clinical findings and testing results in the electronic medical record (EMR). Educate patients on medications, treatment plans, and follow-up instructions within scope of practice. Prepare, clean, and stock examination rooms and maintain ophthalmic equipment. Support efficient patient flow while maintaining HIPAA, OSHA, and infection control standards. Collaborate with physicians and team members to provide outstanding patient care. Perform other duties as assigned to support clinical operations and patient needs. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Basic computer proficiency. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment. Preferred Qualifications Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) credential or willingness to obtain certification. Previous ophthalmology or medical office experience. Knowledge of ophthalmic terminology and diagnostic testing. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred Physical Requirements Frequent standing and walking throughout the workday. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods. Lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and occasionally climb. Manual dexterity to operate ophthalmic equipment and computers. Visual acuity necessary to perform clinical testing and documentation. Ability to work efficiently while managing multiple patients and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Pay:

$16.00 - $21.00 per hour
