Job Description

About A Kind Heart A Kind Heart Healthcare Services is a growing, heart-led healthcare company built on one promise: Care, Beyond Compare. We believe care is more than completing a shift or filling a schedule. It means seeing the person, honoring their dignity, keeping our word, and being dependable when families need us most. We are strengthening our foundation and preparing to scale. That requires leaders who can build strong systems without losing the compassion behind them. The person who joins us will help shape how caregivers enter AKH, experience our culture, remain compliant, and become ready to serve our clients well. Our Mission To provide compassionate, dependable, person-centered care that goes beyond expectations while building trusted relationships with clients, families, caregivers, and community partners. Our Vision To build and scale a heart-led healthcare organization known for exceptional care, operational excellence, strong leaders, and meaningful opportunities for people to grow and serve.
Our Values Compassion:
We treat people as human beings, not numbers or transactions.
Integrity:
We do what is right, even when no one is watching.
Accountability:
We own outcomes, follow through, and address problems early.
Relationships:
We build trust through respectful, honest communication.
Excellence:
We protect quality, compliance, and the details that affect care.
Service:
We lead by asking how we can help the team and the people we serve.
Growth:
We remain coachable, improve systems, and help others develop.
Teamwork:
We solve problems together rather than creating silos or blame. About the Opportunity We are seeking a hands-on People Operations & Staffing Lead - Home Care to guide approximately six team members across one connected caregiver workforce pipeline: Recruitment to Credentialing to Staffing. This is a hands-on leadership and operations role rather than a traditional corporate HR position. It is an opportunity for a strong healthcare administrator and emerging leader to build a department, create accountability, develop people, improve systems, and prepare AKH for responsible growth. Routine tasks are completed by designated team members; the Lead owns direction, oversight, auditing, coaching, escalation, and measurable departmental outcomes. A current Washington CNA or HCA credential is strongly preferred because firsthand understanding of caregiver work will strengthen orientation, communication, and readiness decisions. The Lead will conduct new-hire orientation and coordinate skills verification with an appropriately qualified clinical trainer. This position does not independently make clinical competency determinations outside the employee's credential, training, or delegated authority. Key Responsibilities Lead approximately six team members across Recruitment, Credentialing/HR Support, and Staffing. Set priorities, monitor productivity and quality, coach team members, and maintain clear accountability. Oversee applicant sourcing, screening, follow-up, conversion trends, and recruitment-source effectiveness. Align recruitment priorities with client demand, caregiver geography, credentials, availability, and schedules. Oversee onboarding, credentialing, required documentation, profile readiness, expiration tracking, and compliance follow-up. Oversee AxisCare setup and support, as well as Tapcheck and payout-preference processing completed by HR support personnel. Personally schedule and conduct new-hire orientation and coordinate skills verification with an appropriately qualified clinical trainer. Document candidate readiness using approved standards and promptly escalate clinical, compliance, or employee- relations concerns to the appropriate leader. Oversee Staffing Team performance, open and urgent visits, recurring gaps, time-to-fill, caregiver utilization, and newly activated caregivers awaiting placement. Ensure all three functions consistently follow AKH policies, protocols, workflows, and SOPs. Conduct routine quality-control and workflow audits; address repeated errors, missed steps, overdue work, and performance concerns. Resolve routine recruitment, onboarding, credentialing, staffing, and personnel issues within the authority of the role; escalate investigations, accommodations, terminations, wage concerns, and complex employment matters. Identify root causes and implement practical improvements that strengthen hiring speed, compliance, placement, utilization, retention, and client continuity. Review departmental KPIs and provide leadership with concise updates on trends, risks, decisions needed, and corrective actions. Protect confidential employee, applicant, client, and company information. What Success Looks Like Recruitment, Credentialing, and Staffing operate as one accountable pipeline rather than separate silos. Applicants receive timely, respectful communication and move efficiently through the hiring process. Caregiver records and credentials are complete before activation and placement. New caregivers are oriented to AKH's mission and transitioned to Staffing quickly and appropriately. Open shifts and recurring gaps are visible, prioritized, and addressed before they become crises. Team members understand expectations, follow SOPs, meet deadlines, and receive timely coaching. Leadership receives accurate information, clear escalation, and solutions rather than surprises. Departmental systems become stronger, simpler, and more scalable over time. Who Will Thrive Here The right person is compassionate and strong. They can care about people while still holding standards. They do not wait to be reminded of every responsibility; they learn the desired outcome, communicate early, and follow work through to completion. You want to help build a growing company, not simply inherit a finished department. You lead with service, humility, courage, and accountability. You are coachable and can also give respectful, direct feedback. You remain calm and organized when priorities change. You seek the root cause instead of repeatedly applying temporary fixes. You protect standards without losing empathy for applicants, caregivers, clients, and teammates. You measure your success by team outcomes, quality, reliability, and service - not by title alone. This may not be the right role if: you prefer to wait for step-by-step direction, avoid difficult accountability conversations, blame other departments, hide problems, resist changing ineffective processes, or view caregivers and clients only as numbers. Qualifications - Required At least 1-2 years of relevant experience in healthcare administration, recruitment, staffing, scheduling, people operations, office operations, or a related field. Strong organization, prioritization, communication, and follow-through. Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-moving environment. Ability to learn and consistently apply policies, workflows, protocols, and SOPs. Comfort providing direction, feedback, follow-up, and accountability. Sound problem-solving, judgment, documentation, and confidentiality practices. Comfort reviewing reports, basic metrics, and operational performance. Dependable, proactive, highly trainable, coachable, and willing to grow with the company. Preferred, but Not Required Active Washington CNA or HCA credential in good standing. Previous supervisory, team-lead, mentoring, or coordination experience. Experience in home care, home health, senior care, healthcare staffing, or a related environment. Recruitment or high-volume hiring experience. Familiarity with caregiver credentialing requirements. Experience with AxisCare or similar workforce-management software. Experience building or improving SOPs, workflows, dashboards, or accountability systems. Direct Reports Approximately 6 team members across Recruitment, Credentialing/HR Support and Staffing. Emerging leaders are encouraged to apply. Extensive HR management experience is not required. We are open to candidates who demonstrate leadership potential, sound judgment, persistence, trainability, organization, initiative, and the ability to grow into broader responsibility. Compensation and Benefits $22.00-$25.00 per hour, based on relevant experience, qualifications, demonstrated leadership ability, and role fit. Paid time off and Washington State paid sick leave. Washington Paid Family & Medical Leave eligibility. Paid orientation and job-related training. Opportunity for advancement and professional growth as AKH scales. Employment Classification Full-Time, W-2, Hourly / Non-Exempt. Hours worked will be tracked, and overtime will be handled in accordance with applicable federal and Washington State wage-and-hour requirements. Schedule Monday - Friday 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM PST How to Apply Submit your resume and concise responses to the questions below. Thoughtful responses are required and will be used as part of the initial screening process. Why does AKH's promise, Care, Beyond Compare, resonate with you? Tell us about a time you held someone accountable while preserving trust and respect. Describe a recurring staffing, hiring, or operational problem you helped solve at its root. What does department ownership mean to you when a company is still building and scaling? After reading this posting, what part of AKH's mission and this opportunity feels most aligned with you?
