Job Summary The CNA plays a vital role in providing compassionate and high-quality care to individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia, and other long-term care needs. This position involves assisting residents in daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and safety, and promoting their independence while respecting their rights. The CNA will work closely with a team of healthcare professionals to deliver personalized care tailored to each resident's unique needs. Duties Provide direct caregiving support to residents, including assistance with personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing. Monitor and document vital signs as needed, ensuring accurate records are maintained. Assist residents in engaging in activities that promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation. Maintain a clean and safe living environment for all residents, adhering to hygiene and safety protocols. Support residents with mobility challenges, ensuring they receive appropriate assistance when needed. Uphold resident rights by treating all individuals with dignity and respect while promoting their independence. Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans. Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance caregiving skills and knowledge of best practices in assisted living and home care. Qualifications Active CNA License Previous experience in caregiving or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred. Familiarity with dementia care practices is highly desirable. Knowledge of resident rights within nursing home or assisted living settings is essential. Ability to perform basic cleaning tasks to maintain a hygienic environment for residents. Understanding of vital signs monitoring techniques is beneficial. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for residents.
