Maplewood is currently interviewing CNAs that can contribute to a healing environment focused on the physical and emotional well-being of all our residents. At Maplewood a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides daily hands-on care, physical support, and basic medical monitoring for residents under the supervision of licensed nurses (RNs or LPNs). CNAs help maintain resident safety, comfort, dignity, and overall well-being. Alternating weekends are required. Key Responsibilities Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Assist residents with bathing, showering, dressing, grooming, oral hygiene, and bathroom needs.
Mobility and Positioning:
Help residents transfer between beds, chairs, and wheelchairs, and regularly turn or reposition bedridden residents to prevent bedsores.
Nutrition and Hydration:
Serve meal trays, feed residents who need assistance, and record food and liquid intake.
Vitals and Monitoring:
Measure and record vital signs like blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and weight.
Observation and Reporting:
Monitor residents for changes in physical, mental, or emotional behavior and report concerns immediately to the nursing staff.
Environment and Safety:
Respond promptly to call lights, change soiled bed linens, and keep resident areas clean and safe.
Qualifications and Requirements Certification:
Must hold a valid, active CNA license or certification in good standing within the State of Wisconsin.
Physical Stamina:
Ability to stand for long periods, walk frequently, and safely lift, push, or pull weighted items or residents (often up to 35-50 lbs.).
Soft Skills:
Strong communication, active listening, patience, and deep compassion for elderly or rehabilitative residents. Benefit Package Includes Competitive pay starting at $18.62/hour plus differentials Bonus pay (EPay) $10/hr. more Medical, Dental, Vision Aflac 401K with company match
