Job Description

In this vital role, you will provide essential support to nursing staff and directly assist patients with their daily needs, ensuring comfort, safety, and dignity. Duties Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and well-being. Take and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates, ensuring timely communication of any concerns. Support medical teams by preparing patients for examinations or procedures and assisting during treatments with aseptic techniques. Document patient information meticulously in electronic health records (EHR) systems while maintaining strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Use patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts or other equipment safely to prevent injury and ensure comfort during movement or repositioning. Provide emotional support and effective communication to patients with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities or dementia. Follow infection control protocols diligently, including proper hand hygiene and use of personal protective equipment (PPE), especially in infectious disease care or ICU settings. Qualifications Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) from an accredited program. Experience working with geriatric patients, individuals with disabilities, or in long-term care environments is highly preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs assessment, and basic life support (CPR) certification required. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation. Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting and patient transfers using appropriate techniques. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with healthcare teams and caregivers while maintaining patient confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines. Prior experience in specialized areas such as Alzheimer's care, hospice, ICU, emergency medicine, or behavioral health is a plus. Pay:
$23.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
