Duties Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility using safe lifting practices and patient transfer methods like Hoyer lifts. Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems. Support medication administration processes in collaboration with nursing staff, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality. Provide specialized care for patients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, including memory care techniques and behavioral health support. Perform basic medical procedures such as catheter care, phlebotomy (blood draws), and aseptic techniques during wound care or other sterile procedures. Assist with patient transfers, positioning, and mobility using manual handling techniques suitable for various patient needs. Document all patient interactions thoroughly in medical records, ensuring compliance with medical terminology standards and legal requirements. Qualifications Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification from an accredited program. Experience working with diverse populations including long-term care residents, pediatric patients, or individuals with disabilities. Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks; familiarity with medical documentation practices is preferred. Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to patient care. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively while adhering to safe lifting practices. Prior experience in settings such as hospitals (including ICU or trauma centers), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home & community care is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills for caregiving and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams while maintaining patient confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR required; additional certifications like DME (Durable Medical Equipment) training or hospice care experience are a plus.
