CPR Full Job Description Supported Living Services Manager Adaptive Learning Center Concord, California Full-time, Exempt Salary:
$70,304-$76,000 per year, depending on experience Build a Strong Team and Help People Live More Independently The Adaptive Learning Center is seeking a positive, dependable, and experienced leader to manage our growing Supported Living Services program. The Supported Living Services Manager provides hands-on leadership to a team supporting adults with autism and other intellectual and developmental disabilities in their own homes. This position is responsible for staff supervision, scheduling, service quality, regulatory compliance, and ensuring that each person receives consistent, respectful, and individualized support. The ideal candidate is organized, approachable, confident making decisions, and committed to developing a strong and reliable direct-support team. Our services are designed to promote independence, meaningful community participation, personal choice, and an improved quality of life. What You Will Do Lead and Develop the SLS Team Supervise, coach, and evaluate Personal Attendants and other Supported Living Services staff. Create a positive team culture built on communication, accountability, and mutual support. Facilitate staff meetings, individual supervision sessions, and ongoing training. Participate in interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and developing new employees. Provide clear direction and timely feedback when performance concerns arise. Oversee Individualized Services Ensure that services reflect each member's Individual Program Plan and Individual Service Plan. Help staff support members with independent living skills, household management, communication, personal safety, financial organization, and community navigation. Develop practical support strategies that increase independence while protecting each member's health and safety. Participate in annual and semiannual planning meetings as needed. Maintain respectful and professional relationships with members, families, Regional Center representatives, and other members of the support team. Manage Scheduling and Program Coverage Oversee staff schedules to ensure coverage aligns with authorized service hours and individual member needs. Respond to unexpected staffing shortages, call-outs, emergencies, and other operational concerns. Participate in an on-call rotation and remain available for occasional evening and weekend support. Provide direct care and cover open shifts when appropriate staffing coverage cannot otherwise be secured. Ensure staff follow expectations for attendance, timekeeping, shift confirmation, communication, and transitions between shifts. Maintain Quality and Complianc e Ensure that Supported Living Services comply with applicable Title 17 requirements, Regional Center expectations, ALC policies, and health and safety standards. Review service notes, ISP goal tracking, incident reports, behavior-support documentation, and other required records. Conduct regular audits of member files, service logs, schedules, tracking systems, and household records. Monitor program quality, member satisfaction, service engagement, and operational sustainability. Ensure member financial records, household budgets, and spending documentation are accurate and complete. Support Health and Safety Oversee emergency-preparedness plans, safety checks, drills, and household communication procedures. Help staff respond appropriately to health, behavioral, and safety concerns. Ensure incidents and significant changes are communicated and documented promptly. Coordinate with ALC's facilities team when repairs, maintenance concerns, or household safety hazards are identified. Collaborate Across ALC Work closely with the Director of Community Living and other ALC leaders. Coordinate with Community Connections, Vocational Services, and other departments to support consistent services and community participation. Participate in leadership meetings, the Safety Committee, staff development, agency events, and special activities. Provide management coverage and organizational support when needed. What We Are Looking ForRequired Qualifications At least two years of experience providing direct support or case-management services to adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities. Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to manage complex situations independently and respond calmly during emergencies. Ability to coach employees, establish expectations, and address performance concerns. Comfort using technology-based documentation, scheduling, and communication systems. Valid California driver's license, acceptable driving record, and ability to drive personal and company vehicles. Ability to satisfy required background clearance, TB testing, and health-screening requirements. Ability to provide crisis intervention, CPR, and emergency first aid. Adult CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain certification after hire. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in psychology, counseling, social work, human services, or a related field. At least one year of supervisory or team-lead experience. Experience with Supported Living Services, person-centered planning, independent-living instruction, or Regional Center-funded services. Familiarity with California Title 17 Supported Living Services requirements. Important Expectations This is an active leadership position that combines program management with direct involvement in daily operations. The person selected must be willing to respond when unexpected needs arise, including occasionally providing direct support or covering an open shift when other qualified coverage is unavailable.
