Job Overview Arkansas State University Three Rivers is seeking a dedicated Nursing Faculty/Instructor to join our Health Sciences Division and help students develop the knowledge, skills, and professional competencies needed for successful careers in nursing. The Nursing Faculty/Instructor provides instruction in the classroom, skills, and clinical settings. This position plays an important role in student success by providing engaging instruction, evaluating student performance, advising students, and supporting recruitment and retention efforts. Duties & Key Responsibilities As a Nursing Faculty/Instructor, you will: Provide high-quality classroom and clinical instruction to nursing students. Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing curriculum to support program and student learning outcomes. Prepare course outlines, objectives, lesson plans, instructional materials, learning activities, and assessments. Select and evaluate textbooks and other instructional resources. Evaluate student learning and performance through classroom assignments, examinations, skills laboratory, simulation, and clinical experiences. Observe and assess student clinical skills and competencies and provide meaningful feedback to support student development. Advise and mentor students regarding academic progress, program requirements, clinical performance, and career development. Participate in student recruitment, orientation, retention, and student-success initiatives. Maintain accurate student and classroom records, including attendance, competency files, progress reports, and graduate follow-up information. Participate in program reviews, curriculum assessment, accreditation activities, and continuous improvement initiatives. Collaborate with faculty, staff, administrators, healthcare professionals, and clinical partners to provide quality nursing education and clinical experiences. Participate in division and college committees, meetings, activities, and other institutional initiatives. Attend professional development activities, in-service training, workshops, conferences, and continuing education opportunities to remain current in nursing practice and education. Review and recommend revisions to college policies and procedures affecting the nursing division. Maintain required professional licensure, certifications, and clinical competencies. Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned. The ability to adapt to evolving healthcare practices, educational technology, and instructional methods. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution. Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arkansas or eligibility for Arkansas licensure. Professional nursing experience appropriate to assigned teaching responsibilities. Monday-Thursday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. The position may require additional hours outside the regular schedule based on classroom needs, clinical requirements, student advising, committee, recruitment, professional development, and college activities.
