The Career and Technical Education (CTE) Nursing Assistant Instructor will provide the expertise and knowledge in the specific subject area that supports AchievePoint Florida as managed by Achieve Learning's school curriculum and program. This position requires an active Florida LPN License . The CTE Nursing Assistant Instructor will teach students using a variety of effective practices and provide engagement and support activities that encourage student learning. The role of the CTE Nursing Assistant Instructor encompasses teaching and learning, academic advising, professional development and institutional and community service. The CTE Nursing Assistant Instructor will instruct students to build knowledge and clinical skills aimed at passing the state licensing certified nursing assistant exam. The CTE Nursing Assistant Instructor will supervise and reinforce nursing assistant essential skills to provide safe care in the nursing home environment, utilizing the Nursing Assistant curriculum approved by the Florida Board of Nursing. The School CTE Nursing Assistant Instructor works as a part of the team in order to meet the needs of all students. The building of relationships is a critical component of this learning environment, the team works together to identify student needs that may be barriers to success. Teachers collaborate with team members to analyze different means of meeting student needs and communicates with students, parents, and other team members about student progress and plans for next steps.Essential Teaching Responsibilities :
Evaluate student progress as related to learning objectives and provide tutoring and assistance to students who are not meeting their full potential; Monitor at risk students within assigned courses and develop action plans to address risk; Reinforces laboratory technical instruction, including demonstrations of skills required by the Florida Board of Nursing in the nursing assistant profession, reinforcing safe practice and techniques; Reinforces classroom and lab teachings to ensure students are demonstrating safe operation of tools and equipment while working in the clinical site. Instruct students in the importance of accuracy, neatness, efficiency, resourcefulness and good work habits in obtaining employment in hospitals or other health care related facilities. Keeps records of daily attendance and student progress; reports to supervisor / registration office per requirements of the District, and school. Confers with classroom instructors to obtain additional information and to gain insight on student behavioral disorders affecting the learning processes. Assists students to develop and implement effective clinical practices and techniques. Develops and implements record keeping procedures that ensure proper documentation of action plans for success per requirements of supervisor; keeps and reports data required by funding agencies, i.e., attendance, progress, and competency-based data for each student; Ensures confidentiality of all program records and student information; Maintain student retention/completion rate for the program. Contact student missing from class. Develops a strong understanding of school policies, procedures and upholds requirements and policies of the District; Assist in obtaining clinical sites for nursing student's clinical experience. Supervise students in clinical setting and monitor progress; Demonstrate skill and/or knowledge in teaching discipline; Make continuous efforts to improve the quality of instruction by reviewing and utilizing innovative practices, techniques, and delivery methods; Demonstrate sensitivity to students with diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds and students with disabilities; Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate students in a learning-centered environment self-disciplined and able to effectively manage others; Plan, develop, and use a variety of teaching methods and materials that assist students in meeting course objectives and which are appropriate for students with differing educational and experiential backgrounds and learning styles; Evaluate students to measure their progress toward achievement of stated course objectives and inform them of their progress in the course in a timely manner; Keep accurate student records and submit related reports and forms within requested timelines; Review, evaluate, and recommend student textbooks and learning materials; Use equipment and facilities responsibly and courteously; Demonstrate competence and interest in the use of technology in the classroom and willingness to explore new instructional methodologies; Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community; Actively participate in department, school meetings and/ or committees; Participate in professional development to improve coaching, data analysis and content knowledge; Demonstrate knowledge of state standards, testing requirements, and graduation requirements within the core content; Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum, student needs and assessments; Become proficient in the use of computer based instruction and software; Keep accurate documentation regarding student progress, needs, strengths, grades, observations, anecdotal records, and other related data; Contribute to a culture of professionalism among team members; Perform any other duties as assigned by the Principal;Qualifications:
Required:
