The Tulane University School of Medicine Department of Urology is seeking a dedicated and patient-centered Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our outpatient urology practice in a full-time faculty role. This position offers an exceptional opportunity to work with an experienced academic urology team while enjoying a stable, clinic-based schedule with no call and no inpatient responsibilities . Position Overview The selected Advanced Practice Provider will provide high-quality care to patients in a fast-growing, academically driven urology clinic.
Responsibilities include:
Conducting comprehensive urologic evaluations, follow-up visits, and chronic condition management Supporting faculty urologists in the coordination and optimization of outpatient care Performing urology-specific outpatient procedures as credentialed and supervised Collaborating with nursing, administrative, and multidisciplinary partners to ensure exceptional patient experience Participating in departmental quality improvement initiatives, faculty meetings, and continuing education activities This role is well-suited for candidates who value work-life balance, consistent daytime clinic hours, and the opportunity to develop strong relationships with patients in a purely outpatient setting.
Qualifications Required Credentials:
Current certification as a Physician Assistant or State of Louisiana APRN license Master of Science in Nursing for NP candidates National certification as an Adult or Family Nurse Practitioner, with prescriptive authority Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (American Heart Association) Eligibility for Louisiana Prescriptive Authority Prior experience in a hospital or clinic setting; urology or surgical specialty experience preferred but not required Why Join Tulane Urology?
