Massasoit Community College seeks a dedicated and experienced Clinical Instructor to provide instruction and supervision for first-year associate degree in nursing (ADN) students enrolled in the Full-Time Day Program option. The instructor will facilitate student learning in fundamentals of nursing and beginning medical surgical nursing courses, ensuring students achieve program learning outcomes and develop sound clinical reasoning and judgment skills.Responsibilities and Duties:
Provide instruction and clinical supervision to nursing students in the Nursing Arts Laboratory, Simulation Laboratory, classroom, and acute care clinical settings for Fundamentals of Nursing and Medical-Surgical Nursing courses. Facilitate student learning using evidence-based teaching strategies that promote clinical judgment, critical thinking, clinical reasoning, and safe, patient-centered care. Teach and mentor students to integrate the nursing process, AACN Essentials competency-based framework, evidence-based practice, quality improvement, safety, teamwork and collaboration, informatics, and professional identity into nursing practice. Guide and support students in achieving course and program learning outcomes. Evaluate student performance in laboratory, simulation, and clinical settings using established competencies and professional standards; provide timely, constructive feedback and submit evaluations as required. Demonstrate and model professional nursing practice consistent with current standards of care, ethical principles, regulatory requirements, and program expectations. Serve as a professional role model by demonstrating effective communication, professionalism, compassion, and accountability. Communicate and collaborate effectively with students, faculty, and clinical agency personnel to promote a positive learning environment. Maintain accurate, timely documentation of student performance and ensure compliance with program, college, and clinical agency policies. Meet with clinical agency leadership at the beginning and end of each semester to review student learning outcomes and address clinical concerns. Attend required faculty and clinical meetings. Adhere to course syllabi and maintain regular communication and accessibility to students via college emailJob Requirements:
Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) preferred; BSN with significant medical-surgical nursing experience and CNE-cl Certification will be considered. Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts. Minimum of two years of recent clinical experience in medical-surgical nursing. Previous teaching or precepting experience. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of recent developments in nursing education and evidence-based teaching strategies. Expertise in utilizing the NCSBN Clinical Judgement Measurement Model (NCJMM). Awareness and sensitivity to the educational goals of a multicultural student population. $14,285.44 per semester / $68.68 per hour. Consistent with the Collective Bargaining Agreement. •If hired for the position mid-semester, the salary will be pro-rated based on the number of weeks left in the semester.Worksite:
