Job Description

The Teresa B. Caine School of Nursing at High Point University seeks a full-time faculty member for our Adult Health (Medical-Surgical)Nursing courses. The ideal candidate will bring strong teaching and clinical expertise to support student success initiatives across thepre-licensure BSN curriculum. This position requires flexibility for evening and weekend teaching and clinical supervision as needed, alongwith participation in university service activities. The faculty member will teach Adult Health (Medical-Surgical) Nursing coursesalong with foundational nursing support courses including health assessment, pharmacology, and other core curriculum components under theDean's guidance. Key responsibilities include direct clinical practicum supervision, clinical skills laboratory instruction,simulation-based learning facilitation, classroom teaching, and development of course assessments aligned with Next Generation NCLEX-RNstandards. Additional duties encompass participation in service activities, student recruitment, academic advising, and mentorship ofcurrent and prospective students. Candidates must demonstrate exceptional teaching capabilities and substantial clinical backgroundin medical-surgical nursing, with commitment to innovative nursing education and student success.
Qualifications Education:
Minimum:
Master's degree in nursing education or equivalent from an accredited institution
Preferred:
Doctorate degree in nursing or equivalent from an accredited institution
Experience:
Threeor more years of clinical expertise as an RN in a medical-surgical/ adult health nursing practice area Familiarity withsimulation education in medical-surgical/adult health nursing Three or more years of teaching (classroom and clinical) in a BSNlevel educational program or higher (course coordination or lead faculty role strongly preferred)
Licensure:
• Unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina (or eligible) BSN FacultyResponsibilities Didactic and clinical instruction across the nursing curriculum using evidence-based methodology Recruitment, advisement, and academic mentorship of potential and actual students Service on university and departmentalcommittees Engagement in scholarship or creative works, and service-related activities Leading hands-on (direct)clinical practicums Maintaining the nursing clinical skills lab, simulation suites, classrooms, etc. Assisting withmaintaining inventory for the clinical skills lab and simulation suites Additional duties as assigned EssentialKnowledge Familiarity with North Carolina Board of Nursing's regulations and standards Familiarity withaccreditation standards and curriculum development (CCNE preferred) Familiarity with

Test Plan and Next Generation NCLEX Clinical practice background in medical-surgical nursing/adult health nursing Familiarity with education principlesand standards for professional nursing practice at the BSN level or above Fosters the development and delivery of "bestpractices" and evidence-based practice" with respect to technology and pedagogical principles Essential Skills Electronic test development using the Next Generation
