Graduate America is building a bench of Clinical Adjunct Nursing Instructors for its Vocational Nursing program in Houston, Texas. Adjuncts supervise VN students in long-term care and acute-care settings and coordinate preceptored clinical experiences under the direction of the Dean of Nursing and full-time RN faculty. This is an hourly role paid for the clinical hours you teach, with no prep or administrative load. A typical week is about 24 hours (three clinical days). Day and evening rotations are available. Position Summary Clinical I groups are faculty-supervised at no more than 10 students per instructor. Clinical II and III use a preceptor model at no more than 24 students per faculty coordinator, with the instructor present for every student's first-time performance of a nursing procedure, as required by the Texas Board of Nursing. Qualifications (22 TAC 214.7 - all required) Current, unencumbered Texas RN license in good standing. Minimum three years of active nursing practice, or advanced nursing preparation. Minimum three years of varied nursing experience, including recent bedside experience in long-term care or acute care.

Evidence of teaching ability:

precepting, charge nurse, clinical education, or prior instruction. Current BLS and the ability to meet clinical-site onboarding requirements (immunizations, background check, drug screen). Responsibilities Supervise and evaluate VN students in direct patient care (Clinical I) and coordinate preceptored rotations (Clinical II and III). Be on site to supervise students' initial performance of nursing procedures and confirm competence before independent practice. Conduct pre- and post-conference, complete clinical evaluations, and document student performance. Maintain working relationships with unit managers and assigned preceptors (no more than two students per preceptor). Uphold clinical site policies, student safety, and Texas Board of Nursing clinical requirements. Compensation and Professional Support Hourly rate of $36.00 to $45.00, commensurate with clinical and teaching experience. Paid Instructor Development Program completed prior to independent assignment. Mentored co-teaching during the first clinical assignment. Advancement through Instructor I, Instructor II, and Lead Instructor. Term-based scheduling on 10-week terms with the option to decline assignments between terms. Schedule and Location Part-time adjunct appointment, about 24 hours per week. Clinical sites are in the Houston area. This position is not remote.
