Graduate America is hiring full-time Nursing Skills Lab Instructors for its Vocational Nursing program in Houston, Texas. Skills lab instructors run hands-on skills instruction and competency check-offs in our on-campus labs. This role is the bridge between online theory and clinical practice: you teach the skill, watch every student perform it the first time, and sign off that they are safe to take it to the bedside. The program is hybrid. Theory is delivered online by full-time RN faculty; skills labs are on campus and capped at 25 students per section. Instructors teach about 25 to 28 live lab hours per week across several cohorts on a 10-week term calendar, with the balance of the week for check-off documentation, remediation, and lab preparation. Position Summary Skills Lab Instructors deliver laboratory instruction across the VN curriculum, from fundamentals through medical-surgical, pediatric, maternal/neonatal, and mental health skills, and supervise each student's initial performance of nursing procedures as required by the Texas Board of Nursing. Qualifications (22 TAC 214.7 - all required) Current, unencumbered Texas license as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse in good standing. Minimum three years of active nursing practice, or advanced nursing preparation. Minimum three years of varied nursing experience.

Evidence of teaching ability:

precepting, charge or education roles, or prior instruction. Availability to teach on a day, evening, and Saturday lab rotation. Responsibilities Deliver skills lab instruction and demonstrations in accordance with the approved curriculum. Conduct and document competency check-offs; supervise and verify each student's first-time performance of nursing procedures before independent practice. Provide remediation and open-lab practice time. Prepare lab spaces, supplies, and simulation equipment; maintain lab safety and inventory. Coordinate with theory faculty so lab content follows the didactic sequence. Keep attendance, grading, and competency records current in Canvas. Participate in faculty meetings and Texas Board of Nursing and Texas Workforce Commission compliance activities. Compensation and Professional Support Salary of $45,000 to $60,000 per year, commensurate with license, clinical experience, and teaching experience. Mentored co-teaching during the first instructional assignment. Tuition assistance toward RN degree completion for LVN faculty. Schedule and Location Full-time appointment.
