Full-time The Nurse Manager Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional leadership position requiring strength, courtesy and compassion. The Nurse Manager is responsible for supervising the provision of quality care provided on the Medical Surgical Unit, all aspects of day-to-day operations of the unit, in addition to the specific responsibilities of a registered nurse. Utilizing specialized knowledge, judgment and nursing skills is necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to patients and nursing staff skill and identifying areas needing additional training of staff. Through collaboration with all members of the health-care team, strives to create a positive patient centered culture; and a culture where the staff is encouraged to grow in knowledge and skills to further the quality care provided at WMRMC. Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO)/Director of Nursing (DON), the Nurse Manager acts as a liaison between nursing staff and administration advocating for both patient and staff needs. The position exercises considerable judgment in applying professional knowledge in solving nursing problems within established policies and practices, requires strong communication skills to interact with patients, families, nursing and other health team members while maintaining all standards of professional nursing.
